Ileana Mèndez-Peñate has over fifteen years of experience in movement-building organizations and is passionate about integrating somatics into organizing to make movements more powerful, compelling, and creative. She has extensive experience building power among communities impacted by policing, criminalization and mental health complexities; leading transformative leadership development initiatives; and creating inclusive movement spaces that center all children and families. Ileana holds a Master of Social Work (LMSW) degree from the Silberman School of Social Work.
